Fair-Trade Tanzanian Coffee Fundraiser raises money for Orkeeswa Secondary School

Grown on the slopes of Mt. Meru of Northern Tanzania, the Tanzanian Peaberry is a deeply complex coffee in which a darker roast brings out its subtle flavors. Upon first taste, this coffee appears mild and balanced, but finishes with a brighter, sweeter taste that is reminiscent of caramel and sugary citrus.

The Tanzanian Peaberry is a very clean, full bodied coffee with a sparkling, crisp flavor despite its mild acidity as the fertile soil of Mt. Meru provides ideal conditions for growing coffee. The peaberry coffee differs from the traditional flat bean because of its small, oval shape and more robust flavor. Less than 10% of the beans are peaberries, so these small beans are selectively hand-picked from the main crop to produce this distinctly vibrant coffee. The Tanzanian Peaberry is also a shade grown, and guaranteed 100% Fair Trade coffee.

Each 12-oz. bag of coffee you purchase costs $9.00USD, plus shipping. $3 goes directly to IEFT and their projects at Orkeeswa Secondary School, and $2 goes to the Mt. Meru Growers Association in Tanzania. Each bag provides a significant contribution to the education and economic development of the Tanzanian people with the added bonus of enjoying some great coffee!

To order this delicious coffee, please email Brenda McKee.

"It really is a great school because it provides education to children who do not have parents and do not have the money to pay for school fees at other secondary schools in the area."
