Orkeeswa School is looking for an experienced educator to oversee our extra-curricular programs. 


A key member of the Leadership Team and vital to the school's mission, the Student Program coordinator is responsible for leading and supporting Orkeeswa's extra-curricular programming, including athletics, clubs, workshops, after-school activities, agriculture and environmental projects. The goal of the Student Program Coordinator is to create opportunities for each student to discover their passion and reach their potential inside and outside of the classroom. 


Responsibilities include : 


  • Grow and support Orkeeswa's robust and evolving extra-curricular program by working with students individually to help design projects and activities that fit their interests and support their growth

  • Work with each staff member to support, energize and engage them in a diverse array of activities, including the development of a curriculum for their own unique weekly clubs

  • Lead the Activities Coordinator to ensure students get access to high-quality after-school programming each day, robust club offerings each week, and unique workshop opportunities throughout the year

  • Lead our Pre-Form One / 6th Grade activities program

  • Facilitate collaborations and partnerships with like-minded schools and organizations to expose students to more experiences and activities

  • In collaboration with the Art Teacher, oversee Orkeeswa's Art Program, which includes the visual arts, drama and music

  • Work with the Athletics Coordinator to develop a strong athletics program, ensuring each student gets an opportunity to play sports, if so desired

  • Facilitate the development of a competitive intramural sports program, as well as create inclusive intermural offerings

  • In collaboration with the Athletics Coordinator support the development of Orkeeswa's coaching staff

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Experience 

  • Degree in Education or a related field

  • Experience working with youth

  • Experience leading a team 

  • International work/life experience

  • Strong organizational skills 

  • An adventurous and experienced educator who is an advocate for experiential learning

  • Excellent communication skills ; strong collaborator
